The quarantine diaries — Day 11

Hello dear reader,

Today is day 11 of quarantine — four sleeps to go until I’m freeeeee!

Work helped to pass the time today.

A few more people left the hotel today, and that delayed our fresh air breaks. Yesterday and today I’ve noticed the police seeking out the people who’ve been out on their breaks the longest and asking them to go back to their rooms to give others a chance to come outside. I thought I saw one or two body-worn cameras today, too.

Today I also had my COVID test. I had had one about two months ago (in Melbourne; it was negative); today’s felt more invasive. The nasal swab left my nose tingling (like I wanted to sneeze) for about half an hour; I also had other side effects that are a little gross. A health department nurse assured me these symptoms were ‘nothing to be concerned about’. Thankfully they have subsided this evening, about eight hours after the test. Here’s hoping for another negative result.

And so ends another day…and my thinking capacity!

‘See’ you tomorrow.
