Outdoors + exercise + peace = garden

Some of you know that I’ve recently moved in to a new home. One of the things the sellers established there is a beautiful garden. It’s small, but is dense with flowering vines, flowers, an archway, herbs, potted flowering plants, and two frangipani trees, which are hopefully set to flower in summer.

I’m not usually known for my ability to look after plants - I’ve been more of a killer than a green thumb in the past - but the garden is beautiful and I’m doing my best to keep it alive. I’ve even been out to prune some of my plants, which I’d usually be too hesitant to do, as I didn’t think gardening was something I’d enjoy. I’m happy to say I’m wrong, and there is a sense of satisfaction that comes from removing the dead leaves and blooms grom my plants so that new shoots can appear.

Best of all, the garden attracts butterflies, bees, and birds, providing a really pleasant outlook from the rooms in my house.

Right now there are probably a few too many plants in the garden, weighing down the fence or making the garden beds quite dense, so I’ll be having some removed to make the garden my own.

If you're like me and aren't sure if gardening is for you, try your hand and see what happens. I've found it provides outdoor time, a bit of exercise, and a beautiful peace all in one.
